About Lori Allison
Lori Allison graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Textiles & Clothing and Business. She has a Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Family & Consumer Science education. She has taught thousands of adolescents to sew in her teaching career.
Although Lori has sewn since she was six – first designing and making clothing for her Barbie doll – she is fairly new to the quilting world. In 2001, Lori Allison simultaneously discovered the rotary cutting method from her mother, and a local contemporary quilt shop. Lori and her mother began to collaborate on a number of quilts with Lori designing and cutting, and later machine quilting, and Carol sewing the quilt top.
Lori’s first pattern, Funky Rainbow Crazy Logs was designed for adolescent quilters and it remains a good seller. “Every year there’s a new group of 12-year olds who are seeing “Funky Rainbow Crazy Logs” for the first time!” Lori lives, and now works from her home, on Lake Minnetonka just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota with her dogs, Pun’kins & Peetapoo.
